Dutch Integration Exam A2 Speaking Practice
If you search in English but need to answer in Dutch, use the explanations below to understand the task and speak the actual answer in Dutch. Practice one short situation at a time and record each answer twice.
A four-part A2 answer
- Direct answer: say what you need, choose, or think.
- Reason: add want or omdat.
- Detail: add a time, place, person, amount, or short example.
- Finish: ask a clear question, make a request, or conclude.
Example: call the doctor
You have been coughing for three days and sleep badly. Ask for an appointment.
15 original A2 speaking questions
Ask for help or arrange something
- Your bicycle tyre is flat. Ask when it can be repaired.
- You do not understand a letter from the municipality. Ask someone to explain it.
- Your bank card does not work. Explain the problem at the bank.
- You want a library card. Ask which documents you need.
- Your package did not arrive. Call the delivery company.
Change an appointment
- You cannot visit the dentist tomorrow. Move the appointment.
- Your child is ill. Call the school and report the absence.
- Your bus is delayed. Tell the childcare centre you will arrive late.
- You need to discuss your working hours with your manager.
- You invited a friend, but now you must work. Suggest another time.
Explain a choice or experience
- Which sport would you like to do at the weekend, and why?
- Would you celebrate a birthday at home or outside? Explain your choice.
- What do you usually do on a free afternoon?
- What is important when you look for a new home?
- Describe a place in your neighbourhood that you often visit.

Should I answer in English?
No. The explanations are in English, but your practice answer should be in Dutch.
Can an app replace the official practice exams?
